Who We Are
CommuniLearn Foundation (CLF) is a nonprofit organization that empowers youth, supports families, and strengthens communities through youth empowerment and family support programs, Community Resource Centres (CRCs), education, mentorship, volunteer engagement, and collaboration.
Our Story
Journey from Idea to Implementation
CommuniLearn Foundation’s journey began in 2010 when neighbors in Markham, Ontario came together to organize community events and support local families, youth, seniors, and people with disabilities. As community needs became clearer, residents envisioned a dedicated Community Resource Centre (CRC) where people could learn, connect, and support one another.
In 2014, nine community members each contributed $100 per month to rent the first CRC, which later became a registered nonprofit in 2018. From a small rented house, CRC Markham grew into a thriving two-story community hub serving more than 50 individuals and families through education, recreation, and support programs.
Inspired by its success, the model expanded internationally in 2017 after our founder launched a women’s sewing and skills-development program in a rural village near Gujar Khan, Pakistan. To support this growing impact, CommuniLearn Foundation (CLF) was established in Canada in 2023, followed by CLF Pakistan in 2026.
Today, CLF develops community programs, trains local leaders, and helps communities establish their own Community Resource Centres (CRCs), enabling them to build on proven experience rather than starting from scratch.
Staying the Course
In November 2022, our founder’s son, who was 17 at the time and is now 21, developed a new mental condition that made him non-verbal and fully dependent on 24/7 care. This refocused our outdoor activities, but the work did not stop. We moved online to develop and test CLF’s two core programs with volunteers across Canada and Pakistan. This work continues as sadqa for his son, and as service to Allah’s Deen and to humanity. It is a daily reminder of the value of time, health, family, community and of the importance of using those blessings to uplift others.

Approach
Our programs are mostly online. A child in a remote village gets the same mentorship as someone near a CRC. Online delivery keeps costs low and impact high

Uzair leads CLF's programs and community engagement activities in Pakistan. He works with teachers, volunteers, families, and local partners to strengthen program delivery and create meaningful opportunities for youth and families.
